{"id":47617,"date":"2016-01-30T13:13:18","date_gmt":"2016-01-30T12:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planktonchronicles.org\/en\/?p=47617"},"modified":"2023-10-12T16:19:08","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T14:19:08","slug":"shimoda-session-kyotographie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planktonchronicles.org\/en\/shimoda-session-kyotographie\/","title":{"rendered":"Shimoda Session for Kyotographie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No\u00e9 and Christian Sardet came to Japan to film and photograph planktonic organisms collected in the bay of <strong>Shimoda<\/strong>.\u00a0They worked night and day in the <strong>University of Tsukuba Marine Laboratory<\/strong> in\u00a0<strong>Shimoda<\/strong>\u00a0to create exceptional 4K video sequences and images.<\/p>\n<p>In spring 2016 (April 23rd through May 22nd) a plankton photo exhibit and a video installation with Japanese artist Shiro Takatani will be created for the international <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kyotographie.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kyotographie festival<\/a><\/strong>. This year&#8217;s theme is <strong>&#8220;Circle of life&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Shiro Takatani and 2 members of the <strong>Kyotographie festival<\/strong> visited the <strong>Marine Laboratory<\/strong> in <strong>Shimoda<\/strong> and were introduced to the process of observing plankton and to the advanced imaging techniques. <strong>Zeiss<\/strong> and <strong>Nikon<\/strong> provided high-end microscopes, while <strong>Chroma &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0optical filters company-sponsored the trip. Kazuo Inaba, Kogiku Shiba, Sylvain Agostini and the staff of the Marine Laboratory\u00a0and sponsors made this experience both productive and fun.<\/p>\n<p>More news will follow about the
